History of Japan
The history of Japan goes back to thousands of years. Japan had followed a strong policy of isolation for more than 250 years. It had open its ports for other nations only in 1854, when an era of development and industrialization began. Japan was defeated and suffered great losses in World War II, though recovered rapidly afterwards and became one of the world's major economic and industrial powers by today.
