Area Information: Palazzo Cardinal Cesi is only a few yards from St Peter's Square, on the magnificent Via della Conciliazione, in what used to be called the Spina dei Borghi (the area lying between the old Borgo and the new Borgo). The road was designed by the architects Piacentini and Spaccarelli, and completed in 1950 with the erection of two rows of obelisks serving as lamp-posts. Its name, suggested by the journalist Franco Franchi, is a reference to the historic peace agreement between the Church and State: the Lateran Pacts.

Just a stone's throw away from St.Peter's Basilica, are the Vatican Museums, the Sistine Chapel and Castle Sant'Angelo Fortress. Many of the city's other most celebrated sites and monuments, such as the imposing Pantheon, the enchanting Piazza Navona, the beautiful Piazza del Popolo and the famous Spanish Steps are only a 20 or 30 minute walk.

The "San Pietro" national railway station is five minutes away, linked to the "Gemelli" hospital.
Fiumicino airport is served by a regular train service to Rome's central Termini station.
Termini Station is at the terminus of the no. 64 ATAC bus route, the no. 40 Express bus route, or by Metro underground railway from Ottaviano Station (5 minutes' walk away) on Line A.
