This event took place on September 24th 2009.
The worst nightmare to any travelers is when you turned up at the hotel after a long haul flight, the man behind the counter told you that your booking is confirmed and validated but we do not have a room for you as we are fully booked at the moment.
You then started to question them “why?” as the room is booked and confirmed beforehand. The man replied “don’t complain to me, I am only an employee”. Then he started to make a few phone calls and pull out a map on the desk and told me in broken English to go to another hotel. All directions and landmarks are in French which makes it very tough for me to find as I was very tired and hungry. It took me 30 minutes to walk there and to give you a feel on the distance, it is from one Metro(Subway) station to another. The hotel that was arranged is among the red light district with sex shops on either side. My room is on second floor and facing the back street that is full of cabarets, pee show parlors and of course bars. I checked in on Thursday and left on Sunday. The parties at the back street went on every evening starting from 7pm to 7am the next morning. It was so noisy that I simply cannot sleep.
I am extremely upset with Hotel Saint Georges Lafayette in Paris. The Hotel management has no business ethics and integrity. It has totally sabotage my 4 days’ stay in Paris and I do not recommend anyone contemplate to book this hotel or nor should you allow your agent to book this hotel unless you want to get into the trouble that I have encountered
