The Big Island - Hawaii Vacation Beyond the Ordinary
Isn't everybody dreaming sooner or later in his life about a vacation in Hawaii? A trip to Hawaii is a vacation of a lifetime and will be planned thoroughly. Let's help you make the most important decision, which island to visit on your first Hawaii vacation.

Each one of the Hawaiian Islands has its special attraction to Hawaii visitors. Kauai is the Garden Island, Maui attracts surfers and golfers en mass, Waikiki on Oahu combines a great beach vacation with a great shopping and entertaining experience and last but not least, it's the Big Island unique features which guarantee a combination of them all.

The Big Island is the Hawaiian island of superlatives! It's active volcano Kilauea attracts thousands of people from around the world to Hawaii Volcanoes National Park. Where else on earth can you still hot lava flowing into the ocean? Furthermore, the Big Island features: Tropical rainforest on the East side of Hawaii Big Island, beaches of many colors (from white sand beaches on the West coast to black sand and even green beaches on the east coast), snow-capped mountains of Mauna Kea and Mauna Loa, spectacular waterfalls in hidden valleys like Waipio Valley on the Hamakua Coast and Pololu Valley on the northwest tip of the island. Visiting the Big Island is not just a regular beach vacation. A world of adventure, discovery and fun await the traveler.

The Big Island is not only the biggest of the Hawaiian islands - twice the size of all the Hawaiian islands combines. It also boasts as many as 11 different microclimates meaning there is a climate and a landscape for everyone. There is no limit to Big Island activities, many beyond the ordinary.

If you are a thrill seeking person, you might want to try some skiing on the snowy slopes on Mauna Kea during the winter months. Experience and skills are required! Hawaiians just take their boogie boards from the ocean for a ride down the snow, which can be quite challenging as well. Be on the safe side and visit Mauna Kea summit for sunset and stargazing. An experience you won't forget! You can drive all the way to the visitors' center, where telescopes are available for everybody, not just the guided tours

Humpback whale watch in winter, playing golf on championship golf courses, snorkeling and diving, hiking, swimming in the warm waters of the Pacific Ocean or just lying on the warm sand all-year round, make the list of Big Island vacation things to do complete. It's a vacation destination without limits!

There is so much to do and to see on your vacation of the Big Island. You definitely need at 1-week vacation to get started. We promise you once you have been here, you will be back for certain. So set your priorities for your first Big Island vacation and leave the rest for the next visit. Welcome to Hawaii Big Island, the island of adventure.
