There are literally thousands of destinations worldwide to choose from whether it be the Costas in Spain, the canyons of Nevada or the beaches of Thailand. We are getting more sophisticated as travellers and the world is continually getting small in terms of travel. Below a look at 5 places which are fast gaining popularity.
1. Cuba and its capital Havana are very strong contenders to become one of the faster growing destinations for the future and with things quickly changing since Obama became U.S president, watch out for Cuba. You might want to travel to Havana, Cuba, there in fact before the tourist invasion begins.
2. Seoul, South Korea is another destination which has huge potential. When the Korean won currency is weak the country attracts a lot of Chinese and Japanese tourist. Seoul, Korea is though also a great destination for Westerners and as people look for a vacation or holiday with a difference, a city such as Seoul has so much to offer. Great food, a perfect stopover point for Australia and New Zealand and a fascinating culture in its own right.
3. Sicily, Italy is an island which has always had some tourism activity but it has never fully taken off. The tourist invasion is yet to happen fully in Sicily, but it will most likely do so on day. With Sicily quite likely one day to be connected to mainland Italy by road, if the Messina bridge project proceeds, means that the island of Sicily will suddenly become much easier to visit. This is likely to be very significant for tourism to Sicily.
4. China has always been a country which invokes interest and with the last Olympics being held in Beijing and with the recession of 2009 almost past, China is likely to rise fast and tourism will very likely be one of the key winners.
5. London, England although always a tourist location is likely to be overwhelmed in 2012 as the Olympics descends on the city. Make sure you book accommodation a year or so ahead of time and enter the tickets ballot for events as soon as it opens. 2012 is likely to be a wild time to visit London, England.
