10 Reasons to Visit Dubai
Dubai; just the name makes me think of all the riches, endless sand and gold that's found in the UAE (United Arab Emirates). Dubai is a simply fascinating ever-growing country which is taking the world by storm as we speak, and is soon becoming a notable holiday destination with a million reasons as to why you should visit.
1. Getaway from the winter cold – Dubai boasts good temperatures of 25 degrees Celsius almost all year round except from May to September where the heat can get pretty unbearable at times.
2. The Shopping and its Grand Souks – Dubai is known for its worldwide shopping variety, where you can find anything ranging from high end retail shops to the gold market which sells artistic jewellery and even traditional souks (Markets) which wind down into the narrow covered alleyways and buildings. Something not to be missed especially if you're a shopaholic.
3. A Futuristic Feeling – When you get to Dubai, you'll know what I mean. It feels like nothing is impossible with its ever expanding ideas of how architecture and the way of living should be.
4. The Burj Al Arab hotel – Probably the world's best known hotel, the Burj Al Arab is built on a manmade island of the coast of Dubai and is the only 7-star hotel to date. This all suite hotel is also the tallest in the world with just over 200 inspiringly decorated rooms. This is such an icon that even if you can't afford to stay there, it's one place you'd definitely want to say you've seen as its beauty is both inside and on the outside.
5. Great Architecture - It can be found everywhere, from the great iconic hotels to the markets and even to the first underwater hotel scheduled to be opened in 2009, which apparently is said to hail 10-stars. Where else would you find such a masterpiece? Only in Dubai.
6. Great Beaches – Long stretches of beautiful unspoiled beaches great for families or even going solo and just having some good old fashioned beach fun.
7. Diverse Society – You don't feel like an out-of-towner when you're in Dubai because wherever you are you're bound to see people from all walks of life!
8. Hospitality – Arab hospitality is one of the best things about Dubai. Almost everyone is friendly and respectful and it makes asking for directions a whole lot easier.
9. Nightlife with no limits – Dubai has over 100 vibrant nightspots where you can party the night away. No alcohol restrictions and you even get to see the occasional firework spectacular.
