An affordable Alternative for Accommodation In Sheffield
Today, Sheffield is a far cry from the desolate city portrayed in classic comedy The Full Monty. For the past 15 years the city has undergone a stunning transformation, involving the clearance of vast tracts of wasteland that previously housed heavy industry.

As a result the image of a city in urban decline no longer applies. In its place impressive looking retail and leisure buildings have been erected, and Sheffield now boasts a buoyant economy based on the technology and financial sectors rather than its traditional steel making roots.

Indeed, the city has thrived over the last decade and is home to one of the biggest shopping centres in the north of England known as Meadowhall. Close by is Valley Centertainment Leisure Park, a dedicated entertainment district that comprises a 20-screen cinema, bowling alley and numerous restaurants and bars, all sitting in the shadow of the impressive Sheffield Arena - home to great concerts performed by touring world class rock and pop acts.

However, due to the city's continuing success it therefore has to cater for more business and leisure visitors in terms of accommodation. As you would expect from a city of innovation, it is also experiencing a new accommodation phenomenon, namely serviced apartments. A relatively new concept they are already in demand by those in the know who live elsewhere, but work in the city during the week.

The principle is simple. Rather than staying in a hotel, you can stay in serviced apartments in Sheffield, which offer the same luxury at a reduced cost. In addition, as a serviced apartment is fitted out with a kitchen and a fully-equipped lounge it feels like a home from home, where medium to long-term residents needn't live out of a suitcase.

Suitable for anyone wishing to stay in the city for longer than seven nights a serviced apartment is ideal for key executives working temporarily in the city. Typical apartments range from one bedroom properties that can be utilised by an individual to three-bedroom apartments in which a company could house a number of workers, and save a considerable amount on hotel bills at the same time.

But, a real advantage from a company point of view is that there are no restrictive lease agreements. Guests book a period in the same way as they would if staying at a hotel in Sheffield; certainly a more flexible way of providing medium to long-term accommodation for key workers.
