Holidays in Almerimar, Costa Almeria, Spain
Almerimar, traditionally a fishing village, is situated within the province of Almeria. It offers one of the largest marinas in Spain with about 1400 berths, which also incorporates a yacht club. Nearby within reasonable driving distance is the Sierra-Nevada mountain range, a Nature Reserve and Almeria City. The airport is located at Almeria, which is only 30 minutes drive away. The Shuttledirect service can be booked online, it provides an advanced booking service that is easy to use.

For those who want to relax on a beach, where the rain rarely falls, and the temperatures are as generous as 30°C. Then thirteen kilometres of tide-licked, sun-drenched, soft-sanded beach is for you. And when the sun goes down, the bar lights flicker, music pours into the streets and the nightlife begins. Bars and restaurants are abundant to quench the thirst. To satisfy your curiosity for local delicacies, being a fishing harbour, the freshly caught seafood is a must do experience.

The marina offers has a large range of aquatic activities such as sailing, windsurfing, snorkelling, swimming, fishing, diving and sailing. It offers over 1000 berthing spaces. Boats can be chartered. Boat owners can also enjoy the facilities, which include a workstation, for doing those necessary repairs.

Or you may want to sample the golf provided at the Almerimar Golf Course, originally designed by Gary Player back in 1976. The Almerimar Golf Course now comprises an 18 hole Master Course and a 9 hole Classic Course. Golf provisions; hiring of clubs and golf buggies can be supplied by their shop.

Further a field in the nearby Sierra-Nevada Mountains, the Sierra Ski resort besides offering the obvious facility to ski, also offers alternative sporting facilities like hiking, rock climbing, canoeing, and cycling. The Nature Reserve can provide the keen rambler and ornithologist a memorable experience that has over 200 species of birds that are catalogued, some of which are close to extinction.

Shopping in and about Almerimar provides not only essentials from places such as the hypermarkets of well-known names such as Aldi and Lidl. It can also provide products of Spanish origins - the town of El Ejido, which is very close to Almerimar, is more than capable of supplying these.
