Tourism and Hotels in Budapest
With its multifarious and often embittered history, incredible architecture and rich cultural heritage, Hungary's capital deserves its reputation as the "Paris of Central Europe". It has a composite uniqueness, somewhere between Western luxury and simple traditions. Peaceful and bustling, a big metropolis and still very friendly, it treasures the old and the history and embraces the new and modern.

That Budapest, capital of Hungary, and one of the most beautiful cities in Europe – was established where it is now. If you take a look at Gellért Hill, right next to the River Danube as it flows majestically through the centre of the modern city you will understand what exactly I am writing about. It was exactly the combination of the relative ease of crossing the River here and the natural protection the hill offered against invasion that decided the earliest settlers it was the ideal place to build a town.

Budapest gets about 2000 hours of sunshine a year, among the highest in Europe, providing many opportunities to visit Budapest in reasonably fine weather and avoid the madness and expense of Europe's high season. Both spring and autumn seasons are glorious in Budapest, with plenty to see and many things to do. The winter coldness doesn't really hit until mid-December when many museums and tourist sights close. And even in winter days you can enjoy spectacular blue skies.

Choosing the right Budapest hotels or other type of accommodation is very important, in order to fully enjoy your stay in the Hungarian capital. There are limited numbers of Budapest hotels which were built during the communist era. Most of the new Budapest hotels have been built in the 90-ies and the old ones are gradually renovated. Nowadays new accommodation facilities are still under construction, aiming to provide lodgings for the increasing number of travelers visiting the Hungarian capital. As a result, Budapest today can offer very different accommodation types and categories for both tourists and business travelers.

Budapest hotels like hotels in any other major cities vary from first class hotels to the cheap hotel on the corner for students, school groups or backpackers. But find the right hotel in Budapest is not that easy because you have to compare prices, check availability and find a decent hotel that meets your needs best.

To feel and enjoy a holiday in Budapest is to revel in one of the world's most beautiful cities, which not only offers breathtaking classical architecture but also stunning vistas across the wide, romantic Danube River. Another reason to come to Budapest is city's renowned operatic and music events; relaxing and rejuvenating in its famed spa baths. With so much history, culture and entertainment to explore and enjoy, no traveler could leave unsatisfied.
