A Guide to the Beaches of Greece
Greece has some of the most paradise spots in the world, with over hundreds of Greek islands that some say you can never finish exploring in your lifetime. Almost every beach in Greece is perfect too, so filtering out the exceptional ones was a little hard.

We start with the beaches of the Cyclades Islands, the Red Sand Beach in Santorini Island being the most unique out of my selections. Red lava cliffs, black and red sand, it almost sounds like a picture from Mars. However, it couldn't be more different. The cliffs dive into the shoreline below which is met by the clear blue sea.

The exotic beach of Firiplaka would be up next. Located on Milos Island, huge rocks cover the shoreline and crystalline waters mesmerize everyone who gets a chance to visit this beautiful beach. Another beach located on Milos Island worth going to would be the Gerontas Beach... The fine grey sand and transparent waters complete the perfect picture and is a mark of what rugged beauty really is.

The most beautiful though in Milos Island would but the most unique Sarakiniko Beach. With its acid white rocky landscape against the turquoise blue sea surrounding it, this beach is truly a once in a lifetime must see.

Moving on, the beaches of Sporades Islands hold quite a few jewels as well. Start out with the Beaches of Agios Dimitrios and Chrysi Milia; the latter said to be the most beautiful on the Island of Alonissos. They both differ in the sense that the former caters more to solitude whereas Chrysi Milia offers water sports and can get pretty crowded during the summer with people of young and old walking its golden shimmered shores.

Still in the Sporades circle, the beaches of Koukounaries and Lalaria on Skiathos Island attract their fair share of attention. Koukounaries, said to be the most popular beach, is also said to be the most unspoiled beach of the Mediterranean.

If you're looking for beaches in the Ionian Islands, head for the beaches of Mytros and Navagio. Myrtos is considered to have to most beautiful beach on the Kefalonia Island and in the Ionian Islands, with its golden sands and turquoise waters (almost white) and rocky cliff surroundings.

As for Navagio, this beach is probably the most famous of all the Greek beaches, with its shipwrecked landmark on the white sands of the beach. This beautiful paradise is tucked away so you'll only be able to get there by boat, but trust me; it's more than worth the 30minute trip.
