Exploring The Fascinating City Of Tallinn, Estonia
The capital of Estonia is one of finest Baltic cities in the northeastern Europe. Located on the northern coast of Estonia, along the Gulf of Finland, Tallinn is a chief industrial, political and cultural center, and harbor.

Tallinn is a coveted tourist destination widely known for fully preserved gothic Old Town, vivacious nightlife, repositories, parks & gardens, zoos, and many other things. There are lots of more things and places to explore the fascinating city of Tallinn.

The Alexander Nevsky cathedral, located on the Tompea, is a Russian orthodox cathedral in the old town. Established in 1900, it is a glorious example of Russian structural design. It's a must visit place for its beauty.

Vanalinn is Tallinn's old town, which is covered with beautiful winding cobblestone avenues, towers and Hanseatic architecture. Despite the superb medieval structural design, there are lots of bars, eating joints, repositories, shops, houses etc.

Estonian Maritime Museum is located in the cannontower Fat Margaret. It is a 4 storey repository that exhibits all aspects of marine activities including multi-purpose seafaring, ship and boat building, lighthouses, ports, navigation aids, fishery, history of seafaring and marine education. The museum also includes more than 7000 objects, 15 000 documents, 30000 photos and negatives about every kind of maritime activities.

Kiek in de Kok, situated on the Toompea Hill slope, is one of the strongest defense towers in old Tallinn. It is a six-storey cannon tower, which was built in the late 15th century. Kiek in de Kok is 38 meters tall with 4 meters thick walls.

Kadriorg Palace is one of the most glorious places to see in Tallinn. It was established by Russian czar Peter the 1st for his wife Katariina 285 years back. The vast region around the Palace is encased in park. The palace also serves as an art repository and its surrounding park is also very gracious.

Rocca al Mare is one of the Tallinn's best zoos that is a home to over 5400 animals from 350 different species including polar beers, elephants, buffalo, camels, deer, seals, crocodiles, lions, monkies, hypopotamus, birds, tigers and reptiles. It was established on 25 August 1939.

The Viru Gates are the main entranceway to the Tallinn's mediaeval part, leading to the chief shopping and dining street. The gates were constructed in the 14th century.

Tallinn Town Hall Square is one of the most renowned symbols of the city. It was built on the central square at the start of 13th century. It was substantially remodeled in 1402-1404. It is furnished by gorgeous buildings, plenty of outdoor cafes, eating places, open air concerts, handicrafts fairs and medieval markets.

Established for the 1980 Olympiad, the 314-meter-high TV Tower is wonderful place to visit in Tallinn. The viewing platform, at 170 meters high, is open to visitants. You can see a delightful sight of Tallinn, its surrounding areas, and the Gulf of Finland from the height of the tower.
