A Guide to the Annual Brussels Jazz Festival
Jazz fans from throughout the world descend on the city for this annual event which takes place from May 25th to May 27th of every year.

Prepare your ears for a feast as you set off for the Brussels Jazz Marathon where you can enjoy all the jazz you want, from funk to Latino, classic to improvisational, as the best of Europe's musicians come out to play. For all music lovers and jazz aficionados, this festival cannot be missed.

If you are thinking of travelling to Brussels, try to time your trip to experience the Jazz Festival. Brussels is a musical city, famous for its jazz cafés and live performances, so the best way to enjoy it is through music. Visitors can explore the old city of Brussels one concert at a time, or enjoy live music while you sip a Belgian brew at the pub. If you like jazz, the Festival is certainly the most exciting and interesting time to see the city.

For three days each year, Brussels is transformed into an enormous performance hall. Stages are set up in the main squares of the city for outdoor performances to accommodate the throngs of concert-goers that come from all over the world to see this eagerly anticipated event. Bars and hotels are converted into concert spaces for indoor shows where hundreds of musicians gather to show their skills as they get the exciting opportunity to play for an international crowd.

The festival caters to all tastes in jazz, including funk, blues, soul, rock, Latino, and modern and traditional jazz. Traditionalists can appreciate familiar tunes from classic artists, while the adventurous can get a taste of world music or modern instrumental jazz. Whatever your musical preference, you are sure to find something you enjoy.

For added convenience, free busses run throughout the night to shuttle you from one musical splendour to the next, so concerts will be easy to find. Visitors can also book a stay in one of the host hotels so that they can have a performance venue below their residence. It is advisable to check online on their website for a list of places to stay. Also, try to book your hotel and flights early so you do not miss out on this incredible musical event.

All concerts are free and take place in a variety of indoor and outdoor venues throughout Brussels.
