What to Do When Traveling to a Hong Kong Vacation
When people talk about going for a vacation to Hong Kong, 3 things comes to mind. Delicious Chinese food, shop till you drop and of course, the magic of Disneyland. Actually, there are many more things you can do in Hong Kong.

Shopping in Hong Kong

When it comes to shopping, Hong Kong is well known for its range of products from internationally branded goods to local manufactures and designs. It ranges from electronic gizmos for dad, fashion for mum and education or toys for the kids. A visit to this island state a family vacation or far a newly wedded couple on a honeymoon tour is an experience that will last a lifetime.

You can head for the up market malls such as Times Square in Causeway Bay or Harbor City in Tsim Sha Tsui. Many other interesting shopping malls can also be found in Mong Kok area. Sport loving tourists will fall in love with Fa Yuen Street. This is a street full of affordable sports products shops. Take an evening stroll to Tung Choi Street, popularly known as the Ladies' Market for a night market shopping experience, Hong Kong style.

Food, Glorious Food

When it comes to culinary delights, many tourists to Hong Kong claim that Hong Kong cuisine is one of the best in the world. For the locals, yum cha (tea time) is not just drinking tea or coffee. Yum cha includes a wide array of delectable finger food (dim sum). You can literally find restaurants and tea houses anywhere in this island state.

Disneyland and Ocean Park

Perhaps the most identifiable landmark in Hong Kong is the magical kingdom of Disneyland. Just like any Disney theme parks, you can enjoy Fantasyland, Adventureland, Tomorrowland, and Main Street USA. Go watch fabulous Broadway productions, dazzling fire work displays and exciting parades while in Disneyland.

How about a visit to another famous Hong Kong theme park, the Ocean Park? You can take a ride on the world's second longest escalator as the park is nestled in the bosom of a mountain. There are friendly dolphin shows and sea lion performances for the kids delight. For the more adventurous, try out rides like the Abyss Turbo Drop or the Mine Train roller coaster.

Have a bird's eye view of Hong Kong by taking your family for a scenic 25 minute ride on board the Ngong Ping 360 cable cars across the shimmering ocean, majestic mountains and the countryside. Or take a relaxing Peak Tram ride as the tram inches its way up a mountain slope providing a mesmerizing view of the city and countryside.

Wetland Park

Nature lovers will love Wetland Park. You can just hop on a train and get away from the bustling city to the 60 hectare park. The park is an extensive wetland habitat, boardwalks and bird sanctuary. A 100,000 sq feet visitor centre features exhibits and facilities that demonstrate the biodiversity of wetlands and conservation issues.

Do visit Hong Kong in the winter months as the climate is cool and comfortable. You will not be at a loss on what to do when you are there for your vacation.
