Flying to Morocco: A Guide to Getting to Morocco
Morocco is a romantic bustling place full of charming attractions and scenic locales. It is one of the most attractive travel destinations in the world due to its colourful history, the rich culture and the exciting travel experience it offers to everyone regardless of their interest. It is a land that will capture your imagination and intrigue your senses. In short, Morocco will not disappoint. This is a fact realised by the many visitors who head there each year.

If you too are interested in experiencing Morocco for yourself and are about to start making your way there, be sure to ensure that your visa is all in order. Although citizens of many countries can travel there without making advance preparations, citizens of several countries may need to ensure they have the proper visa before landing in Morocco. You can verify which category your country falls in by checking online or by heading over to the nearest Moroccan embassy.

Once you have settled the necessary paperwork, it is time to think of your travel medium. Lucky for you, there are several ways to get to this beautiful land.

By plane: If you are heading over to Morocco from places such as New York, Montreal or select European cities such as Landon, Girona, Belgium, France or Frankfurt-Hahn, you may be able to hop onto a flight that will take you to beautiful Casablanca or colourful Agadir. The main airline services are British Airways, Ryanair, Thomson fly, Royal Air Maroc and Easyjet. Many of these are actually budget carriers, so you will find it fairly easy on your wallet to get to Morocco by plane.

As an alternative, instead of flying straight to Moroccan cities, you may want to fly to Gibraltar or Malaga which may be cheaper. From these locations, you have the option of getting to several key Moroccan cities by boat.

By boat: If you are from Spain, you will find it fairly easy to get to Morocco. There are two main options. Firstly, you can head over to Algeciras where there is a ferry that connects to Ceuta and Tangier. The journey will take about two to three hours. Alternatively, you can head over to the port in Tarifa, which is about half an hour away from Algeciras. From here, you can take a connecting ferry. Other Spanish ports you may want to consider are Malaga and Almeria, which also runs ferry services to Moroccan towns or neighbour towns.

You can also take connecting ferries from France, at the port of Sete or Port Vendres. However, the prices tend to be much higher. There is also ferry service between Gibraltar and Tangier.
